Description: Summary Entry-level position intended to provide individuals entering with industrial experience and training opportunities leading to growth into other classifications.
Responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials as needed.
Essential Functions Assists workers engaged in fabrication or manipulation of industrial or sheet metal products, performing any combination of the following tasks: measuring, lifting, positioning, drilling, forming, cutting metallic and non-metallic materials using hand and power tools, and removal of workpieces from machines.
Assists with the preparation of materials and assemblies for welding.
Assists electricians, plumbers, sheet metal workers, machine builders, and other trades with the performance of their assigned tasks.
Cleans, deburrs, and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping, using the scraping tool, abrasive, or placing in a solvent bath.
Picks up and removes scrap from work areas.
May perform production operations after training such as, but not limited to: cut-off saw, drill press (radial or conventional), band saw, shear, brake press, and hand-held power tools.
Effectively interacts with managers, supervisors, and hourly team members across all departments.
Participates in specialized training as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Wraps and secures goods using pads, packing paper, containers, and straps.
Loads and unloads shipment from transport vehicle manually or using specialized moving equipment including but not limited to forklift, pallet jack, and overhead crane as needed.
Secures cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, and covers.
Inspects loads to ensure cargo is secure and only items designated to be shipped are included.
Accurately complete appropriate documentation regarding shipments and deliveries.
Collects delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instruction and routes.
Plans or adjusts routes based on changing conditions or production needs.
Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
Understands and complies with requirements of the QMS, AS9100, and/or ISO 9000.
Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements: Required: Valid Class A CDL Must be able to regularly lift at least 25lbs occasionally 50lbs Must be 18 years or older Preferred: Experience using an ERP system Experience with a Quality Management System Fork Lift certification
