Local CDL Class B Truck Driver – Garbage truck operator Description: McDowell & Sons is currently hiring a garbage truck operator.
This individual would be responsible for completing daily garbage routes and responding to customer request for additional pick up.
Must have at least a Class B CDL.
Required knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Operates solid waste collection trucks, mechanisms for loading, compressing, and dumping refuse material.
· Drives to designated areas to deliver, dump, or pick up containers and refuse while respecting others property.
· Performs vehicle inspections and basic maintenance activities · Keeps the interior and exterior of assigned equipment clean.
· Effectively communicates with dispatch and executes assignments efficiently · Reports any mechanical problems, and emergency situations · Ability to work safely at all times · Responds to routine requests for information · Ability to operate a tablet to follow routing and record: discrepancies, extras/bulk items or issues, take pictures to document what is on-site.
TrashFlow software experience is a plus but not required.
· Fuels and dumps vehicle daily · Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position · Submit to a background screening, the ability to pass a drug screen and physical as required by the Department of Transportation.
· Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and to prioritize work Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.
