$10K Sign-on Bonus for full-time positions
Full-time & Part-time Hours available: Rotating shifts between the hours of 0600-2030 with call rotation for weeknights, weekends and holidays.
(3-4 shifts of call per month on average)
Our Operating Room is a busy 9 suite department that performs a variety of surgical cases in the following specialty areas: Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Robotics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Podiatry, and Plastics.

Responsibilities:
To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care at Registered Nurse skill level, in collaboration with the Medical Plan of Care, with a minimum of assistance.
To function as primary care leader, associate, or charge nurse so that optimum quality of patient care is maintained according to the philosophy and objectives of Allen Hospital.
To exercise accountability responsibility, authority, autonomy, and act as a role model and resource person with expanded theory and expertise.
Perform pre and/or post-operative critical care for surgical patients.
Maintains department competencies related to proper care of patients.
Responsible for managing equipment and responding to emergencies, signaling concerns to Physicians within a timely manner.
Operates equipment and performs technical skills according to policies and standards; learns new skills and seeks assistance appropriately.
Responsible for sedation administration and recognizing and assessing the need for reversal and airway management.
Ability to flex schedule and adapt to changes in workflow.
Able to respond to call as soon as needed, but no later than 30 minutes.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Nursing
Current license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by Iowa Board of Nursing.
Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
Multicultural sensitivity.
Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.
Customer/patient focused.
Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
