*Summary:*
The radiology/mammography chief technologist will maintain and coordinate all aspects of the department computer system, in-service education, and equipment maintenance in addition to performing radiographic and mammographic imaging examinations and procedures.
Assumes responsibility for designated areas of department operation as trained and required.
Performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission of Peoples Community Health Clinic.
Essential Functions:
* Ensures department training, policies and procedures are carried out and updated regularly.
* Responsible for imaging department successful daily operation.
* Provides general outpatient examinations and/or mammographic imaging exams.
* Provides patient education.
* Ensures proper inventory and operation of imaging equipment and supplies.
* Completes and maintains patient records, files and/or reports with communication to providers and/or nursing staff as necessary.
* Protected Health Information Access (HIPAA)
* Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Peoples Community Health Clinic Mission and Philosophy.
* Works to improve work processes and clinical outcomes including health disparity and quality improvement collaboratives.
* Follows policies and procedures.
* Develops and maintains own competence.
* Maintains a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.
* Assists in control of Peoples Community Health Clinic resources.
*Qualifications:*
* Graduate of an accredited program for Radiologic Technology.
Associate degree or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
* Holds Iowa Permit-to-Practice Radiography from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Holds current registration with the A.
R.
R.
T as a Radiologic Technologist.
Certification in mammography strongly preferred or willingness to obtain.
Current BLS and Mandatory Reporter Certification required.
