*CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS MANAGER* The City of Cedar Falls is seeking Construction Projects Manager candidates to perform professional capital improvement program work, including designing various projects, preparing cost estimates, drafting specifications, and collecting site data; preparing and participating in various surveys and construction projects; preparing computerized drawings and performing various engineering calculations and project quantities for payment; respond to inquiries regarding code compliance and complaints; provide staff support to and receive direction from the City Engineer, may receive direction from the Principal Engineer, Director of Public Works, or Water Reclamation Manager; and oversee technical staff in the review and design of construction of public works projects.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with major course work in construction or facilities management, civil engineering, architecture, business administration, public administration, planning, or a related field and zero to two years of project management experience in technical engineering, construction management, or related field is preferred OR an associate degree from an accredited college with major course work in construction or facilities management, civil engineering, architecture, business administration, public administration, planning, or a related field and five years of project management experience in technical engineering, construction management, or related field is required.
A valid driver’s license with good driving record and post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen are also required.
The expected employment offer will be in the $62,947 - 78,678 range, depending on qualifications, plus full-time benefit package.
The current full salary range is $62,947 – 102,278.
Position involves completion of a position-related questionnaire to fulfill Civil Service testing requirements for candidates meeting the minimum qualifications.
Candidates meeting the qualifications will be notified of testing information early/mid-March.
