La Porte & Söhne GmbH, is an innovative manufacturer of cab door systems for the agriculture and construction equipment markets, and is seeking a Product Design Engineer to expand our growing Cedar Falls team.
This is a full-time position.
Domestic and international travel will be required.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* Design proposals with existing and new products to meet customer requirements Create designs and drawings using computer modeling software Develop customer-specific products focused on economical implementation Works with engineering team to implement best practices and maintain company processes and systems Act as project leader ensuring deliverables on assigned projects are completed in a timely manner according to customer timelines and company processes Works in conjunction with Director, Operations on customer projects and new customer acquisitions Manage project activities to meet customer milestones Create technical documentation and test reports Recommends changes to improve quality, manufacturing and production efficiency *Requirements/Qualifications:* 4-year degree in engineering 3-5 years minimum experience in manufacturing environment 3-5 years minimum Project management experience Demonstrable working knowledge of Creo Parametric 4.
0 (or higher) and Windchill Experience with Microsoft products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Strong communication skills Strong organization skills Ability to learn and apply D.
La Porte's engineering "know how" *Desired Knowledge and Skills:* Prior experience in electronics or plastics Ability to think creatively with spatial imagination Prior experience with technical sales and/or customer service skills Ability to manage multiple tasks to completion in a team environment Compensation commensurate with experience.
