Our client is looking for a strong hands-on leader to join their company as the General Manager to oversee and direct an established and growing bulk equipment manufacturing business as the owners transition out of the day-to-day management of the company.
The candidate will oversee the operations of an 18-25 million dollar plus company and is for its business strategy and financial performance, as well as marketing, sales, production, and manufacturing operations.
The general manager is responsible for ensuring the company conforms to corporate policies and procedures.
The General Manager role requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration with prior leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably sheet metal, steel fabrication or assembly.
In addition, knowledge in areas of sheet structural steel, fabrication, machining, and maintenance is highly desirable.
Familiarity around production with a variety of sheet metal concepts, practices, and procedures.
This individual will rely on extensive operational management experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and key performance indicators.
A wide degree of hands-on creativity and latitude is expected.
Directly manages and directs Operational staff.

The Compensation package ranges will be dependent on experience.
Strong revenue growth has led the company to need the following specific areas of process improvement addressed: ERP system utilization/scheduling systems Purchasing/inventory systems Project job costing/cost allocation systems as well as other internal processes and communication systems.
The opportunity for advancement is available as the Company’s CEO is currently working on succession and exit plans.
Some typical duties and responsibilities include: Establish, implement, and maintain the vision, mission statement and long – term strategy.
Establish and maintain a business plan and operating budget for corporate management approval.
Analyze and continually assess the organization's performance.
Oversee marketing efforts to promote the company’s brand and products.
Oversee the activities of the sales department and product distribution.
Establish annual sales targets and put resources and incentives into place to obtain desired growth and profitability.
Oversee the development of manufacturing processes and systems that produce quality products and meet desired cost objectives and delivery lead-times.
Oversee and coordinate all manufacturing and support functions to achieve desired levels of performance and profitability.
Produce products that meet or exceed quality goals and standards.
Manage the performance of staff and senior management through effective key performance indicators, targets, goal settings, and reviews.
Responsible for compliance with all local and federal regulatory agencies.
Lead and ensure Company safety programs are followed and support legal requirements.
Be a team player and understand the importance of supporting your direct reports.
Directs and mentors shop personnel regarding Quality, Safety, and Overall Shop appearance (5S) In addition to listed duties, discretion to add and modify duties and responsibilities of the position at will.
Experience desired: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering related area such as Industrial, Civil, or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred but not necessary.
Prior leadership experience in manufacturing required, preferably sheet metal, steel fabrication, or assembly.
Knowledge in areas of sheet structural steel, fabrication, machining, and maintenance is highly desirable.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Experience working in a manufacturing plant and with the union - preferred.
Strong decision-making ability.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans.
Ability to motivate and lead employees, and hold them accountable.
Strong working knowledge of operational procedures.
