Job Summary: The Industrial Maintenance Technician is in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities: Performs maintenance and repair work on buildings, facilities and equipment.
Install new or used equipment.
May oil and lubricate machines and equipment, repair and adjust machines such as mills, lathes, punch presses, bench and power tools, replace bearings, spindles etc.
Must be able to perform preventive maintenance tasks on all equipment.
Measure cut and form conduit.
Perform general maintenance on gas fired furnaces and any other piece of equipment that may require gas to operate.
Work from schematics, specifications, instruction manuals and prints.
Place orders for mechanical parts to maintenance storekeeper to ensure that equipment is running efficiently and safely.
Must be able to design and build jigs, fixtures and repair equipment.
Assist in making experimental units and may perform outside installation jobs.
Must be safety conscious and be familiar with safety precautions for handling different chemicals.
Make parts on lathe, paint, etc.
May operate fork truck, crane and or any other material handling device needed to perform job.
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and proper machine maintenance.
Must own and furnish personal hand tools to perform basic trade fundamentals.
Tools will be maintained and/or replaced by the company.
We do have a tool allowance program.
Perform maintenance on portable tools, building facilities and stationary equipment.
Must possess basic knowledge of electronic controls, general welding, pneumatics, hydraulics and proper machine maintenance.
Must possess basic knowledge of industrial mechanics.
Knowledge of gas fire furnace and gas equipment.
Works from supervisor's written or verbal instructions.
Must understand all labor reporting methods and how to use the computer.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 pounds.
Handle potential hot and humid conditions.
Regular standing, walking, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting Pushing & Pulling up to 30 pounds Occasional overhead lifting up to 30 pounds Education/Experience: Maintenance Journeyman's Card or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent 3 years on the job training Benefits: Competitive wages starting at $24.
08/hr progressing to $25.
